During the Christmas and New Year holidays people would just relax and enjoy the well awaited time of the year. Some of them will be sparing time to read the books or articles or magazines of their choice and I infer that views to many articles in Hubpages would also go up. What is your experience in this regard? Did it so happen in the past? Please share your experiences.

No, mine plummet because mostly I write STEM and DIY articles, so students are on holidays and people are lazing about and not doing any work. In the new year, I often have a surge. Maybe it's something to do with New Year's resolutions and people getting off the couch. Like that scene in The Simpsons where Itchy & Scratchy were banned and kids rediscover playing outside.

I think it depends on the topic. I see a surge in my travel articles as people might want to find information about visiting new places. On the other hand, technical articles see a downward trend; as Eugene mentioned, most people are not working in the holidays. So it is a mixed bag,

I am not sure that views spike at this time of year, but I have mostly red arrows on my articles at the moment so it isn't looking too bad. It probably depends on the subjects you write about though as Eugene and Ravi said.

Sure, topic or subject will decide that at any point of time.

While earnings traditionally are at a high during December, views go down around the Xmas and New Year holidays. There's some variance according to topics, but it's a general truth.

However, this year there was a Google update that severely slashed views right before the holidays. In my case, I lost 20%, so I'm seeing record-low traffic right now.

The bad news is that earnings will now only get worse over the next month or two if normal seasonal patterns occur.

When I started writing on HubPages, I wrote a lot of holiday articles, especially popular autumn ones like Halloween Thanksgiving, Christmas New Year’s Chinese new year and I’ve always had a jump in my views during the autumn, especially November December I still get a little bump, but most of the articles I wrote have been older ones and I don’t get quite as much traffic on them as I used to, but there was an increase as people were interested in reading about the holidays and there still is a small increase during this Period
