I have a number of photos to include in my article on traveling to Northern Thailand.  When I upload them, they are too big.  I resized them and uploaded them again, but they continue to be the original size.  Can I not change the size?  Am I doing something wrong? Please help.

Try clearing the cache on your computer.

Clearly, you haven't actually resized them if they are still the original size when you try to reload. You're making a mistake somewhere.

There are lots of free programs and websites that resize photos.

You should aim for the ideal size for photos for HP which is 1400 pixels wide. Then follow the instructions for whatever program you're using. You'll find good advice via Google or on Youtube.

I wouldn't mess around with your original photos. I'd create copies in another folder that you can resize for HP.

      Copied from HP Help:

How to Check the Pixel Width of an Image

      For PC:
Right-click the image thumbnail or the image file name.
Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the dropdown menu.
A new menu will open. Click on the "Details" tab at the top. Under the "Image" header on the Details tab, you'll see the width of the image in pixels.

What do you mean "too big"? I've never had an image rejected because it was too big. Maybe if the pixel dimensions or byte size are very large, there could be an issue. Hubpages downsizes images anyway to 1240 pixels wide. Do you mean they're stretching to the same width as the text?
