I heard when posting articles in Hubpages that when 1000 views are done, 4 or 5 dollars are made. And it may take 6 months to a year to get the first payout. But my case is unique. Even single dollar is not made in 5 months. Is it just me or is it the same for everyone else? it's very disappointing

So every single dollar is made in ......?

I would say, try to write more and diversify your writing. Creative writing doesn't earn big here.

And by the way, that should be impressions not views. And 1000 impressions don't necessarily give you 4 or 5 dollars—can be lower or higher which is CPM (earning per 1000 impressions). But we get impressions from views.., and the impressions can be lower or higher than views. CPM is not constant too.

And it may take more than a year to make your first payout. It will depend on the number of views you get and your CPM.

It takes time. Everything you said is accurate, Khanmaria. It took 9 months before I received my first payout. That was in 2013, it's harder now. Hang in there, depending on your goal. If your goal is to get paid, revisit your goals.

Hi, unless you go into the niche sites and learn to write articles that adress peoples questions (How-to types, depending on what you know) you are only going to make payout in 3 or 4 years. It is the nature of the internet that when people search they usually look for things than answer questions. Your articles are interesting and if you want to keep writing in this way it is your choice. If you want to make payout sooner though your articles have to answer questions.

Best of luck to you. That first year is hard on most people here but, as janshares pointed out, it takes time and is even harder now than it was many years ago.

Your case is not unique. Many people are here years before they get a payout. I got one fairly quickly, but it took a lot of hard work. If you are looking to make strong passive income, this is not your place unless you are willing to approach it like a full-time job (at least in the beginning anyway).

This is happening to many of us. There are many reasons for that but the main thing is that when so many of us are contributing good quality material then earnings are distributed much and the individual gets an insignificant amount. It is unfortunate but happening. Too much rush for sharing that ad generated revenue. It is happening everywhere in each similar portal.

That does not make sense to me. When new articles are published the site will have more ad revenue, not the same as it had before, and would not have to divide the amount that is earned among all of the writers.
When a site is larger they attract even more advertisers, not less, and although we divide our revenue with the site hosts we do not share it among the other content creators.

Hi, l suggest you provide use content to readers and focus on becoming an authority in your niche.

Chose a particular niche and become a master in it.

Provide content that is trustworthy and matches users intent.

The dollars will flow in a matter of time. Wish you all the very best.

If you live in Pakistan, as I suspect, there's another disappointment coming your way. Earnings at HubPages are only received through PayPal and PayPal does not operate in Pakistan.

Oh that's not an issue. My relative lives abroad. Many people take help from their relatives
