I’m a freelance textbook editor trying to make contact with a HubPages writer called Janice White about using context in a textbook that I’m working on. I see from HubPages advice that I should use a ‘Contact the author’ link at the bottom of the article, but there doesn’t seem to be one. Can anyone advise on whether I’m missing something obvious. Thanks!

Hi there, not all writers have the contact button activated. You probably have to wait and hope she sees this.

Edit: looks like she is not active on the platform. Hasn't published anything in over a decade. You can try clicking on the Follow button and send 'fan mail'. She might see that if her email address is still valid.

Thanks for the clarification. I’d wondered if the button had disappeared because the account was dormant. Yes, I thought I might have to send a fanmail and keep my fingers crossed.
    Thanks again, M.

Do a general search with her name and info from her biography, e.g. Google "Janice White Liverpool fine artist".

I believe she has an online presence.

I just did as Paul suggested, and she's online. Good luck!

Interesting. Google search was the very first thing I did and I wasn’t convinced that anyone I found was the same person. Will have to try a deeper dive. Perhaps Google is holding out on me.

I Googled "Janice White Liverpool" and believe I found her Facebook straightaway. I wouldn't describe that as a "deep dive."

There is no deep diving here, either. She promotes herself as an artist.

Apologies if I've unintentionally offended anyone. Appreciate people taking the time to clarify how HubPages works and to offer general advice. Sure I'll find her. Thanks again!
