Hello, I'm a nube! I love this place.
So, I signed up with Google AdSense, got a confirmation email, and copied the "affiliate code" string. But when I went to put the code into the Google slot (my account/affiliate settings), the slot was white and would not let me add anything. It also says "Status Not Set."
Now, I remembered reading something about having to fill out tax info. for Adsense to work?? Anyway, it says I can't do that until I've earned $10. I've spent a couple hours looking at Everyone's help pages, and can't find any help.
Please Help! Thanks!
Hi, Faceless39, and welcome to HubPages! I'm relatively new myself, and so I waited to allow others who have more experience to answer you, but I think this topic may need to be bumped.
The one thing I can guess that you may need to do is, after you click on Affiliate Settings, make sure that you actually click in the white box itself, before you try to enter the code. I would assume you have already done that, but maybe not.
It will say "Status Not Set" until you put the code in and click the completion box. (I forget how the box is labeled: "OK" or something like that.)
You may have already gotten this issue worked out by now. If not, and if these little ideas don't help, you can always contact HP staff. Before you do, though, double-check to see if anything in FAQ's can give you any more helpful ideas to try.
Thanks, Aficionada.. but no, I've already tried these steps. In addition I've looked at ever FAQ and Help page I could find, both here and on the AdSense site. I just can't figure it out. Thanks for trying!
If you have followed correct procedures and it has gotten locked somehow, the best solution is to contact HubPages and ask them to clear the affiliate box; then you can enter the ID again.

Just to be clear, here, you shouldn't input your affiliate code into the box, you should just enter your affiliate ID. You can find step-by-step instructions, if you're confused, here.
Thanks Maddie, for bringing us out of our collective misery.
Thanks Maddie for correcting my terminology. The Affiliate ID was what I was getting at!
I followed the "contact us" prompts.. now I guess I have to wait to see if anything worked. Thanks Website Examiner!

People have been asking this, so I looked at my account. In the week that my application was approved, I have been earning a few cents. I looked under earnings, and it shows that money earned from HubPages is 54 cents. So, I thought, am I getting anything from AdSense? Yes, I am. I went to the...

I haven't viewed my adsense from Google in awhile, so when I tried to log on today to change a bank account I noticed I couldn't view adsense in classic view anymore. Previously I had the problem where I couldn't view it in the new version. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, how do I fix...

I found information in the FAQ about how to create an adsense account, but not how to put the codes in. I was going to use the 'code widget', but it said not. I can't figure out what other widget you would use. Please help. Thanks.
