Get active in the forums, get to know people that way, and they will seek you out. Read hubs written by others, comment on the hubs you read. Follow those writers you like, and followers will come your way. The key is to stay active. Just posting this question will get you a little attention. Also, keep writing, of course!!
ah thank you. I didn't know if it was just the luck of the draw or what. I've been here a while, just not consistently enough to keep up on what and hows lol
Why are you looking for followers? If you're here to write fiction or poetry, I get it. If you're here to make money, followers just aren't going to do it for you.
That said, get involved with the community and show them that you have something useful/interesting/funny/though-provoking to share, and they'll be along shortly.

well of course I'm here for money -- they offer $ (via adsense) so of course!
but mostly because this is side writing and I can write whatever I please so its for creative purposes too. I write fiction and nonfiction so yah, I do promote my fiction. And hoping it helps in getting my name out there.
It can't hurt! Best of luck to you in all your endeavors here!! I don't get on here as often as I would like, but I am coming back to it. The truth is, you need to be active in all aspects of the site, and it will get you known in the community. I looked at a few of your hubs, and you are off to a good start. Try writing things with a little more content. They seemed a little short. Try looking for topics that require a little more depth and research.
You are a good writer, and I hope your creative writing gets out there and gets noticed. As for the money part, followers will be no help at all. Making $$ here is all about keyword research, researching your competition and going after the occasional backlink--and not necessarily in that order.
There's another DS writer that started here about 3 weeks ago, and she's doing really well for the number of hubs that she has. She ranked pretty highly in Google pretty quickly with most of her hubs, is getting decent traffic and has an Amazon conversion rate of over 20%. She's also making AdSense deniro. It's really doable.
PM me if you want to talk about it.
Yah, SEO gets you everywhere
I'm working on my SEO skills with my blogs (mentioned in my profile, not gonna spam them)
I just keep drifting away from HP cuz of my other hobbies, but I think if its really doable to at least get my writing seen (my horror novels, not my articles) then, yah, that's really what I am aiming for more than anything.

What milestones have you set for your hubbing?I decided to write hubs as a way to relieve tension. Just sitting down and writing something that is not class related is relaxing. Then I decided that I really like what I'm doing so I started to set goals for myself. Increasing my followers from 18 to...

Hello,I've been working hard over the past six months per hubpages and have what I think are a number of nice, interesting hubs. They are getting read quite a bit but few other hubbers choose to follow me. I sometimes will run a query of a topic I'm interested in (like the singer Neil...
