For adult content? Really? There is no nudity at all in that Hub. I respectfully request that the restriction be lifted. All the images were found on the web in spite of strict filters being imposed upon my search. There is nothing in that hub that anyone couldn't see on a magazine rack in the checkout line of a supermarket.
You need to contact the hubpages team, not vent on the forums.
it could be a number of things. odds are it might've been a mistake on their part. i know i've had that problem too a few times. like when i was trying to write a review for the film "kick-ass", they automatically anointed as adult content before it was published and completely written. when i talked to the hubpages staff about it, they said it was because of the word "a**" that caused them appoint it that way. however, once i reasoned with them, they were willing to let me publish it with that title. same thing with "Vampires Suck" film review. Originally, the adds were disabled before I was even finished writing it, even though there was nothing controversial about it. hence, again i had to contact hubpages, and they corrected their mistake. anyway, sorry for the long winded answer. lol
what im basically trying to say is, it might just be a mistake in the system like what happened to my hubs. thus, you might just need to contact the hubpages staff directly and ask them to review your hub. once they do, they can either republish it back for you or let you know what changes you need to make on it. anyways, i hope that helps.
Yes thanks. It's frustrating sometimes. I understand their need to control content, but they really need to be consistent and precise when they try to define what will be censored.
i couldn't agree with you more. i think if hubpages was a bit more consistent and concise, then it would be easier to know what EXACTLY is allowed and what isn't. as i've seen some hubs that are way more controversial in terms of adult content than anything I've published, yet i've already had this problem with hubpages about three times now. of course to be fair, the first time was my fault, as i was still learning about this site, at the time. However, this is still a fairly young site, i think so like all things, it's going to take time though before they get it more and more concise. anyways, i hope they don't find anything wrong with your hub, and that it was just an honest mistake on their part so they can republish it for you.
Hey leeberttea!
...Could it be that maybe your hub was about the "wrong sexual preference" according to the mods/other Staff????
Check out a hub by Wanderlust titled "Best Cities for Gay and Lesbian Travel". The last video on the page is........well....dare I say.....much more "pornographic" than your hub was. It MUST be A-okay to see the butt cheeks of a gay man wearing a thong, AND to see women in brief bikinis gyrating on the sidelines of a gay parade! Shucks! THAT stuff is totally APPROPRIATE! Ya reckin???
I didn't even look at the other videos there or elsewhere, but I think it would be safe to say there's more of that type of stuff around here.
But YOU, you're such a bad boy for posting pix of a beautiful woman!
LOL! I'm getting used to the abuse here, it's okay as long as I know what to expect. It's funny because I posted that Hub from a computer where I am limited by strict filters for what I can search for and consequently anything remotely pornographic or inappropriate even is eliminated from my searches. Maybe it's as someone said here a mistake, but in any case, I know where the Hubpages people are coming from, they're all tolerant of others, as long as they share the same liberal views.
I agree leeberttea. It's their house, you gotta play by their rules if you want to continue living in it.
I thought I was but their "rules" are very subjective and leave a lot up to interpretation. This is how they define "Adult Content"
"This Hub contains nudity, lewd or provocative images (including strategically covered nudity, see-through or sheer clothing, and close-ups of breasts, butts, or crotches"
So what is "strategically covered nudity"? One can say that clothes meet that definition. How about a bikini, is that "strategically covered nudity"?
Like I said, my hub has sexy pics, yes, but there is no nudity and nothing overly revealing.
And yes I know I should address the Moderator but I can never figure out how to contact them. Why don't they put their contact in their warning?
Thanks! I found the contact under "help"... who woulda thought? LOL.
Click "help" next to "my profile" on the above right of your screen. The next page shows FAQ with a box on the right hand side. The bottom of the box says "Contact us".
It's all about context leeberttea.
And NO I won't just flag a hub or post.
Yes I will vent in the forums, until they unfairly ban me again.
Because every time I've conversed with Hub Staff or reported inappropriate posts, they've either condescended to me, chewed ME out or banned ME.
Go figure.
If I just suddenly disappear POOF haha you'll know why.
How 'bout
SOMELIKEITSCOTT's
hub titled
The International Gay I Mean Male Catalog
You won't even have to open a video there in order to see quite a risque pic of a male; heck, that little piece of underwear leaves very little to the imagination.
Sorry Bren, not my cup o tea! LOL I have nothing against gays but I also have no interest in viewing pics in their Hubs. If I wanted to see sexy naked guys I'd look at myself in the mirror! LOL
Indeed.
But apparently it's okay to post those types of things around here.
But hey, maybe they will "magically disappear" soon.
Or not.
Or maybe the traffic will increase and reach the dreaded 50-comments mark! Either way, it will make a statement about the hogwash that HubPages DOES allow.
Actually the reverse is true (discrimination as usual). Hubpages policy is that all hubs on 'gay issues' should be non-commerical even if they have no skin showing at all, the same is not true for "heterosexual issues".
"should be non-commercial", huh?
Show me.
The hubs I mentioned are just like other hubs.
People inside and outside of HubPages have commented on them (you can tell that if you look at the names of people who post comments). So they are definitely accessible to the general public.
So, what part of them are "non-commercial"?
and
JULIE-ANN AMOS's
Gay Christmas--
The Santa caricature is vewwwy lewd.
Great news guys!
Sarah Palin is starting her own web site for writers called
SchlubPages. SchlubPages will offer forums geared toward the wackiest of conspiracy theorists, Constitutional contortionists, racists, homophobes, and birthers.
The only bannable offenses will be:
1) Failure to bash Obama on a daily basis.
2) Comments which are objective and respectfully submitted.
3) And of course, posts which contain proper grammar and spelling.
Not interested.
Sarah's too soft on perversion.
But you might catch one by...ahem...a fellow hubber sometime in the near future, if all goes well. It's slated to give usage to some politically-taboo words like heterophobia and...gulp....will even allow Bible-thumping on a daily basis.
It might depend on whether this site here actually starts becoming responsible with their handling of the little thingy called free speech.
I'll sign up for that as soon as it's available!
Cool.
It's only a glimmer in my eye right now.
And there are a zillion others around.
But none like this one will be, if it takes off.
I am nothing if not an eternal optimist.
My imagination is running wild with unrestrained, uncensored thoughts! This could be dangerous! LOL
Oh no no.
Nothing like that.
There will be censorship.
Just not willy-nilly button-pushing that takes away the civil rights of decent people.
It may even be too tame for most people.
And too "set" for many....
Again, I'm nothing if not set on what I know is right.
Is hatred and narrow-mindedness a good definition of decency? How many of our fellow Americans have to be crapped on to constitute decency. The Right is rapidly approaching 75%.
Why is it that anyone that doesn't buy into the liberal agenda is a narrow minded hater?
This name calling is a distraction designed to change intelligent debate on the issues to one of defending personal honor. The fact is 70% of the country is center right and government does not represent that majority at all, they don't even pretend to be interested in serving that electorate. That is precisely why come November all the lefties will be sent packing.
I sure hope so.
My eyes are tired of popping out at what this current Administration is promoting and instigating.
Come November Obama is going to have to learn to be bipartisan. He's going to have to include the republicans in crafting legislation or he won't get anything done (not that that would be a bad thing). This is why he will be a one term president. The left will rebel against him for selling out to the right over the next two years and the right can't wait to hit the eject button on him and fix the damage he's already done over the last two years.
He's already accomplished what he wanted to do----chaos both civilly and politically.
The Left will ride the winds of "change" and push for another "great" "change"---probably a woman President, be it Hillary or Sarah, because one is way liberal and one is way soft and will probably cave in at all the fame and power.
The damage that's been done won't be easy to correct.
That's the teabaggers dream, but it ain't gonna happen. Obama's biggest mistake was seeking bi-partisanship with right-wing zealots early in his administration; a mistake he rectified when he lead the way in passing long overdue legislation.
Even "if" the party of no (intellect, compassion, sense of reality) gains control of the house, they will be powerless to do anything but waste their time on an Obama witch hunt and railing against Mexicans and Muslims.
The only bipartisanship in the Obama administration has been in the opposition. Obama has bypassed the republicans with everything he's done and blamed them when he couldn't even get his own party on board with his agenda to destroy America He's history, a footnote depicting a wrong turn in American values and principles and a testament to an America that has left racism in it's past.
You really need a new TV...one that gets more that FoxNews channel...also try books, magazines, and objective talk radio.
Free speech is guaranteed in public arenas, not private. For instance, an employer can fire you for making derogatory comments about the company. HP has every right to ban content which would harm the community. The often repeated lie that the rules are slanted against conservatives is baseless.
Honestly, it doesn't even matter of the rules aren't particularly slanted against conservatives.
Think about it.
Even just ONE blatant example of bias is a violation of a U.S. citizen's civil rights. Why the heck not complain about it?!
Umm......a few examples of a gay person's "rights" being violated has led to a whole national and international gay movement.
One, or a few, examples of people being harrassed or hurt or killed simply because they're gay has turned into a twisted "civil-rights" movement that now protects NOT the rights of a human being, but protects their so-called "rights" to speak perversion in public and advocate in our schools for sodomy and other perverse practices to become "legal", and buddy watch out if you speak against a person's "right" to flaunt their nasty sexual activities in public.
MY individual rights are hugely important to me. And SHOULD BE hugely important to other people.
But not so. Because the libs have the backing of a man who's audacious enough to spout stupidity and crap from his "Presidential" seat.
Fools and liberals will follow anyone who speaks with a twisted tongue.
The "right" you are claiming does not exist. You could try to amend the Constitution to include HubPages forums...
...that should keep you out of mischief for awhile.
Would I be welcome in your church if I stood up one day and said, "God does not exist and anyone who believes he does is a fool!", or would the congregation deny my "rights" of free speech with torches, pitchforks and a noose?
If you had the nerve to do that in CHURCH, either God would deal with you by shaming you or maybe by lightning (lol) or else the leadership or members would throw you out.
I would think that even you would have enough sense and a teeny bit of respect to NOT do that.
HubPages ain't church.
And I see what you're trying to get at. But it doesn't wash.
If a site is gonna be biased, it should state that clearly in their TOS or on the entry page.
Situational ethics? Who knew you were so liberal?
"Situational ethics"??
Nah.
You confuse transparency and willingness to take responsibilty with...
another coined word(s) that seeks to distract.
Haven't I taught you yet to just say what ya mean and mean what ya say?
Sheesh Ron. You haven't been listening very well.
I tune out Sarah and glennbeck in a similar fashion.
in the warning in the hub there is option to contact hubpages send them message previously a message also comes on my hub but after i wrote them mail within 8 hours the message stops showing in my pprofile
Okay, so.....
I see that leeberttea's hubs are all gone! And I just got a message from him that he's banned again.
And I repeat--all his hubs got unpublished.
Even a fool can see that's not fair at all.
What was he banned for? I haven't seen all of his posts, but he did seem to be in a mood today. I didn't see anything worthy of a banning. Did he unpublish on his own, or did HP do it?
He said he asked them why, so I assume the management unpublished them all.
Anyway, no he didn't do anything that I saw either; except dare to question the "authority" of Staff. And his questioning, he said, and as was illustrated here on the forums and in his hubs, was quite civil and respectful.
Why would you care anyway? I think you're safe, Ron. You've assimilated very well; while others aren't so....docile about freedom being deprived of them.

I would like to know what they consider adult content. I do not have a hub with adult content on it. For those of you who have read my hubs, did you notice anything to be considered adult oriented? As in claims of nudity? I had a couple cartoons on my camping hub, but that stuff can be seen on any...

And I cannot find anything wrong with it. The alert says It violates HubPages terms of use and that it does not conform to the HubPages community standards of quality. Lately, I have had 11 hubs unfeatured due to Quality Issues. I have assured my hubs do not contain grammatical or spelling errors. I have included relevant video and changed the titles and added new supporting texts and all this to no avail. The HubPages Staff continues to deem my hubs do not...
