Trying to promote themselves through comments

I think today was the third time a particular hubber commented by pasting in a bunch of keywords from my post and adding something meaningless like "Nice job" along with his off HP web site address.

I left the comment there as a warning to others but warned him that I see what he is up to and that I will be deleting any future spamming like that.

I'm sure he is doing the same thing to other people.  When I first saw it, I just thought it was odd, but after repetition it's plain that he's just comment spamming.

I wish there were a way to "flag" that kind of thing.

Maybe you can tell him how stupid, silly and ridiculous he is. Maybe this will drive him off. wink

Aww, I can tell you are a fan smile

If you have a problem with something I have said elsewhere, take it up with me there or try reporting it to the admins.

I don't resort to telling the admins like you. roll If I have a problem I'll take it up with you anywhere.

I have never reported anyone to the admins.  I have had to warn a few people that I would if they persist with their name-calling, but I have not actually done it as yet.

I understand that you don't like my opinions on certain subjects.   That's life.

Now, as I said, if you have a problem with some specific thing I said, take it up with me where I said it, not here.

I don't tell on anyone, I've always had a problem with authority figures.

As I said, I haven't either.  But certain folks get a little carried away and warning them of that possibility seems to calm them down.

Watch out, he's pretty tight with the alien from Alien.

Look what it did to his hair.

No, I TOOK that from an alien I trapped in my self designed Alien Trapping Triangle.

Don't you remember?  I caught him right after he popped out of your shower and made your hair stand up like that.

thats what the "spam" button does .. enough hubbers mark comments from one ip as spam then the future comments get automatically put in moderation

btw, congrats, you have arrived, lol

I didn't notice "Spam" as an option..  Only approve and deny.  Did I miss something??

i think the deny is the one that makes for spam, if enough people hit the deny then that person's writing is automatically marked as spam... So liberal use of deny button on spam like comments should do it.
