I started hubpages about 5 months ago and can't complain i make some money not bad but could improve.  I seem to have gotten a little bit of following but get stuck around 20.  I write what I think are informational hubs and so do other people because my comments have increased I'm just looking to move up a little bit and drive some more traffic. Here's two of my hubs

    http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Breed-Pa … t-Cichlids

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Winter-Sweaters … s-For-Dogs

Please be honest with what I can improve like the titles for more SEO ideas.  Thank you.

You need to be honest as well, or no one will be able to give you valuable feedback. I looked through your 40 most recent hubs or so, and the reality is that you have only received about 2 comments in total. That is very little, and may show that you are not marketing your hubs properly and/or that your readers do not find them worthwhile commenting upon.

You may want to focus your energy on external traffic, as opposed to internal traffic. In that event, the number of followers becomes less relevant.

what do you mean by honest.  I am pretty honest as to what I do on some of the hubs.  What would you suggest for marketing my hubs better.  Thank you for the input.

You wrote in your original post: "I write what I think are informational hubs and so do other people because my comments have increased..."

How can you honestly say your comments have increased when you have only received 2 comments in total in about the latest 40 hubs? That is what I meant, anyway.

Marketing: Keyword research, creating backlinks, there is lots of information on that in forums and in hubs written by others. Some hubs do well through organic growth, others may need some tweaking and promotion.

      Good luck!

The last 40 i wrote is what I was talking about struggling with results.  I went from not a lot of comments on almost any of my hubs to what I thought was an increase.  Sorry from none to ten I see is a big jump sorry I wasn't clear.

Getting traffic is hard work, lots of people struggle with that.

You could start posting in the forums that deal with the topics your write on, that may give you some feedback and knowledge.

But maybe your topics are more geared towards a specialized audience from the wider Internet? If so, you should be most concerned about that - plus internal traffic doesn't generate much income.

I read your latest 6 hubs.   They all appear to be sales hubs.  These hubs are normally difficult to comment on.  What do you say to Sales of Eye drops for dogs, or  monkey bump powder, it is like standing in the aisle of a local drug mart.   Okay, nice products, I might buy one if I need it.

How To Breed Parrot Cichlids or Blood Parrot Cichlids  is more well written and entertaining, however, the topic is specialized and appeals only to a small audience.  Google on the title gives 14,000 returns.

Winter Sweaters and Coat Fashions For Dogs  again seems like a sales hub.  I would not leave a comment.   I suspect with all these efforts to sell, that you are making more money than I am. I say stick with this method and earn your money and forget comments and followers.

Caninecrtitics, sorry for my duplicate post above. Seems the system hung while I was posting that, and somehow it got posted twice. I then edited one of them without noticing the other.

SteveoMc and I seem to be on the same page; namely that your hubs are more suited for building external traffic, which makes the followers' issue less important.

The best way to gain more followers and readers is to use social media and social bookmarking sites such as redgage, shetoldme, and snipsly, also if you find a specific niche and go on forums that already has an audience it will make it easier for you to get more views to your content.
