This is the first time I've ever made a suggestion, so I hope it's a good one. I would love it if we had an option to put a video on our profiles, perhaps in lieu of our pictures. It would provide added depth into an author's mentality and personality and probably make more people want to read us.
What do you guys think?
I don't see a need for it, but I am just one person and cannot speak for the entire community.
But, interesting thought though.
Imo, it's a good idea, Donna. I love hubber-made videos in hubs. As you say it's an added depth.
I've thought of such things, but wondered if they wouldn't just clutter up the page. If they were to be allowed, I would want them in addition to what is there, not instead of the avatar.
In the vein of Profile suggestions it would be nice if we could do more to customize what articles appear on our profile... it might also be helpful if it is our group names that are used as categories and not the article flowchart placing of the articles.
Since I'm still back in the 90s (dude why the hell did they stop doing updates for windows 95) I'm going to go with no. Sounds like I'd have to learn how to MAKE videos.
And plus you never know what naughty things my hubby might try and upload - for that matter it will probably lead to another whole area to moderate for an already overstretched staff team.
I like the idea as an option. Not sure when we'll get to it, but rich media like photos and videos are good ways of personalizing a profile.
I think videos can be really fun.

I would love to have a checkbox when editing our profiles that would allow us to suppress from public view the list of hubbers following us, in the same way we can suppress our accolades.

A reader contacted me today to request a link to my profile page because she was unable to find it and wanted to read more of my articles. When I took a look at one of my articles, I saw that my pen name was shown along with the word "more". When you click "more", it...

Why not publish a HubPages e-magazine? It wouldn't have to be as slick as the new Huffington. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/huffingt … 1550?mt=8/Sell ad space and split the revenue with Hubbers whose work is used. Offer it as a free, downloadable PDF similar to what Full Circle Magazine...

I think it would be useful to have a column added to the statistics page that shows the total number of shares for each hub (Tweets and Facebook likes). There is not enough room to add two columns. So this could be a sum of all tweets and all Facebook likes in one column labeled "Shares"....

If the hub comments are set to need approval before they are displayed, you can see that as someone who has commented. This would allow you, as a commenter, to easily tell the hub writer in a second comment if there was a mistake or serious typo without being concerned that it would be...
