I was wondering, just to get a good grasp of how many people actually visit my hubs, if it is taken into account every time I check on one of my own hubs, to see individual stats and the sorts? And other visitors, are they counted as unique visitors or is every separate visit to the same hub represented?
I'm a bit at a loss here with the correct terminology, but I hope the questions make sense.
All best wishes,
Your own views, including editing, are counted. HubPages does not count unique visitors, Google Analytics can do that for you.
Oh, so I have a lot less viewers than I actually thought... Thanks for your quick and helpful reply, WE.
WE, I have assumed that as the edit screen is a different URL it doesn't count as a view - am I wrong?
At the same time, if you go to the hub, then click "edit" that would be a view, and when you click "done editing" that would be another as it returns you to the hub.
If you click "edit" directly from the statistics screen you would bypass the first view, but would still collect the second when done editing.
Sound analysis, Wilderness. I haven't looked that deep, other than to observe that every time one edits a hub the net effect is that new pageviews do accrue.
By the way, Stories Inc., if you set up Google Analytics there is a way to exclude your own IP address from the results.
Thank you for the hint, Website Examiner.

Are our own views counted in the totals on the "my account" page? This is something that I've been wondering for a while. I suspect that they are, but wondered if somebody could confirm this for me, as it's just useful to know! Thanks.

Every time I create a hub and save the draft, I notice there are page views that show up BEFORE I publish it. Sometimes the page views show up before I've saved it as unpublished. Is HP counting all our editing page views?

Hi everyone,I'm just starting out in the wonderful world of Hubpages questions and answers. I've had a look through the help centre and only found a little info....basically that Q&A's are meant to be a very mini hub type thing, where you can earn the 60% for all views on your Question and...

I am not very intelligent when it comes to traffic stats, so sue me..lolWhy is Google Analytics stats more than the HP stats for the same period? Before you assume that Google logs my visits to my hubs, let me clarify that I have hardly been visiting my own hubs. I have an excess of 400+ visitors...

I've been hearing lots of positive posts from lensmasters whose lenses transferred to HP recently that their hubs are getting a lot more "traffic" than previously as Squidoo lenses.I too have noticed that my "traffic" is rising and I am hoping that it will be sustained thanks to...
