teens and support

I am currently in college, studying business and computers, and my passion is to create a non profit for teens with a mentor program.  I have many questions for women.  Responding to these questions would be most resourceful.

Please be very honest, as this information may be of great help to create the non profit curriculum, and inspire girls!

As a child my parents worked around the clock, and I had little or no support in school.

-When you were age 12-18 was there a successful person in your life that you could turn to for help and advise?

    -Are you a single parent?

    -Do you have a career?

-How many kids do you have?

-Do you feel you have a good sense of budgeting?

    -Do you have any investments?

-Would you say you are successful?

-What is your highest level of education?
were your parents there for you?

    -Did you have supportive teachers?

-What would you say you were most into in highschool? Boys, cheerleading, friends, homework??

-Can you tell me anything you would have wished for in an afterschool program or camp, that you would have wanted to attend.

    Thank you for your participation,
    June

I didn't really reach out to anyone I could trust until I was about 17. It was a counselor at school.

    -Are you a single parent?

    No kids at the moment.

    -Do you have a career?

    Freelance writer.

-How many kids do you have?

    0

-Do you feel you have a good sense of budgeting?

Yes. We're very frugal and tend to stretch our meals whenever we can.

    -Do you have any investments?

    No.

-Would you say you are successful?

    In my eyes, yes.

-What is your highest level of education?

    2 years of college.

were your parents there for you?

    Sometimes.

    -Did you have supportive teachers?

    Yes.

-What would you say you were most into in highschool? Boys, cheerleading, friends, homework??

Keeping to myself. Kids at school were mean and my friendships started to fray in 10th grade. After school I'd actually go home, lock myself in my room and read.

Choir and writing courses. I loved English and creative writing, but I always wanted to learn more.
