Hello - I am new...I am signed up for AdSense and Amazon, and apparently I have to manually put the code for AdSense in (?). My questions are:

WHERE do I put the code?
Do I have to pick which ads are put into each hub? If so, How?
If I am putting amazon products on, so I have insert the code for those products (and select which products to advertise)?

There doesn't appear to be anyplace I can find easy answers....

Honestly, is this worth the time it appears to require? I initially thought ads were automatically generated based on keywords you used and what your article is about. If I have to go selecting ads all the time I am not sure I want to do this. Not enough time!

No, you don't have to select the ads yourself.

      (1) To set up your Google adsense, go to this link and follow along:
      http://learningcenter.hubpages.com/1-2- … -adsense//

      (2) After being approved from Google adsense and set up the same in your profile, HubPages will take care of all the technical aspects of your ads. Your adsense ads will appear 60% of the time; HubPages ads will appear 40% of the time. However, there are techniques wherein you can make your ads appear in the place you like. I suggest you post this question as another topic in this forum.

Welcome to HubPages. I was once like you when I started off, not knowing what to do. Just keep posting questions. Many hubbers are willing to answer and fast too.

Other hubbers would berate you for not reading the Learning Center and the FAQ. I would not do the same to you. I suggest you read them. It really takes time to study and learn, but it's worth the time you spent on.

You may also want to read my hub on the marketing side of HubPages:

For Amazon affiliate program, you are the one who will set it up. Watch the tutorial video for the fast answer.

Thank you - I have been to the learning pages, though I still find them confusing for all the set-up concerns. I am slowly figuring it out out. Thank you! I have seen the Amazon tutorial and figured I would check it out this weekend.

That's good. And I suggest you view all the videos first. I mean the videos on how to insert capsules. Watching a video is faster than reading pages!

HubPages automatically generates the ads for you. To get your earnings from your AddSense ads click on my account, then earnings, and you can configure your affiliates from there.

As I said Adsense is automatically generated. As is Kontera. Amazon takes a little effort. You have to use the capsule to have their ads but you don't need to pick the products. You can simply input a keyword and they will generate them for you.

No you do not have to manually select each add. Once you link your adsense number to your account it should all be done automatically after that. Your adsense number is called your publisher id and can be found by going to your google adsense account. Your publisher id is at the top right of the main adsense page. It should say something like pub-"#####...."

As for Amazon what you need to do is go to your amazon associate page then you search for items related to your hub. Your tracking id will be show in the top left of your associate page.

To place an add first click the links and banners tab at the top of your associate page. Search what you are looking for and once you find it click on the get link button. Copy the link html on the page that comes up next and then open a amazon capsule while editing your hubpage and place that link inside of the capsule.

Your amazon associate code should automatically be inserted into the item. You can make sure by looking for your id number that has the -20 at the end within the code.

I hope this helps clear things up for you. =]

I'm new to Hubpages. I have learned: When in doubt, check the FAQ. I don't know if the FAQ anwsers your questions, but for future reference, check it out and then hop over to the forums.
