I just posted my first Hub. I would like some people to read it and critique it please. I would really like to better my writing skills on this site.

I wasn't sure if I could post a direct link to my hub?

Anyway, anyone willing to read it, would be much appreciated by me. Thanks!

Also, if there is anything I have done wrong, please feel free to correct me. I am completely ignorant on how to use this site and really the whole site in general. As I said "Extreme Newbie Here".

You missed the apostrophe out of 'didn't' in a few places, but of course that is minor.

I take it the title is meant to be Angel of Death and not Angle of Death? I would change that if I were you.

Other than that, nice hub but I would break the text up with some images that suit the story of you can find them.

Web surfers are not that great at actually reading - pictures attract them, then they skim read. so make it easier for them.

Well done and welcome to Hubpages smile

It's a pretty good hub in my opinion, but it could use a little bit of work. First of all, a hub is a little bit different from a short story or a regular article. It is meant to be eye candy. So, you need to break the text up into sections. That is the first thing. This way, with titles for each section, people will not get lost in the text, and will know where they are, if they want to skip ahead, and where they can skip to without losing the meaning of the hub.

Also, Hubpages offers a bunch of capsules that you can add to your hub. If I were you, take advantage of the picture capsules, video capsules, and polls. This way, the hub becomes less a piece of writing, and more an interactive piece of writing where readers can read what you have written and are introduced to images and and ways to input their own opinions.

Thanks guys, I'm working on changing the things you said. I have a question, how do I get more people to view my hubs?

      Million dollar question.

If you do nothing, you will find that interacting with other hubbers and forum posting will get you viewers from the hubbing community. Gradually search engine traffic will take over.

If you want more search traffic just now, you will have to promote your hub outside of Hubpages.

    Hi and welcome,
Your hubs are pretty good but I agree with Izzy that when writing on the web, you should utilize the capsules. Just click on them and they appear on the bottom of your hub. You can position them with the green arrows. Hubbing is a huge addiction, on my fourth day now and love it. If you want more views you need to write more for one thing. Read and give quality comments on other hubs, questions & answers, and forums. This will generate more views, time will also be a factor. If you have a twitter, facebook, or any social media in place. One of the major tools that I have been using is. If you go to MY ACCOUNT on top of your page. Then hit EARNINGS just below the top. On your left side you will see a green/brown box with various settings. Hit the REFERRAL TRACKERS. You can use the default tracker, which looks like a bunch of numbers and letters or make your own. I would recommend a word, your name or something like that. If it has not been taken by someone else, its yours. With that setup you can go to any hub, including yours and make a commission for new signups on Hubpages, with the added bonus of bringing in traffic to your hubs. Just above the comment box on any hub you will see the Vote and Share, click SHARE this will open a dialog box, if you share with twitter your unique tracking number/name will be used. Also you can use the CREATE LINK and place them in blogs and your website. On my facebook page, you can paste the link in "write something" it will automatically populate the picture and excerpt of the hub that you want to promote. Very cool. Hope this made some sense, but once you master this plus your personality and good hubs, you will have tons of hits. Good Luck

Another question I have is, how does the hubscore get determined? I began at a 30 and am now a 25. Why is my score dropping?

    Hi,
I'm also a newbie and the hub score is a mystery to me. It appears that even when traffic is falling to a hub, the score can increase and vice versa. I would also appreciate it if someone would like to skim my hubs and suggest any improvements. Good luck Bobbyben.

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Creation-of-the-Angle-of-Death

There is a link to my first Hub. I have a second hub that follows that one and then two others that are not connected to those at all. If anybody would check them out and let me know what they think, I would really appreciate it. I'm still working on the things already said, keep them coming! Thanks!

Myself, I'm not a creative writer, I'm more confident when compiling facts and presenting them (in what I'd like to think) a concise and easy to read manner. I've just read the first hub in the 'Angel of death' hubs. Therefore, I'm no expert however, the first thing that I noticed was that the opening paragraph immediately drew me in. It was interesting and I was genuinely enticed to continue reading.

The remainder of the text was detailed and descriptive and in my opinion, for what it's worth, extremely well written.
