Is the number of page views and the number of the times that a hub has been read the same thing?
Page views counts how much page was opened.
It does not have 100% connection with reading this article because there are people who are clicking, looking few words and closing page.
If you set up Google Analytics you will be able to see how long the pages are viewed for and the bounce rate, as well as other useful information.

How can there be many more slideshow views than page views?I have a hub that has had 7 pageviews in the last day, but has had 282 slideshow views in the last day. I can see one or two people clicking on the pictures more than once, but not 7 people viewing the slideshow 282 times.
