Hey
Thanks for reading this! I am so pleased to be here and I am looking forward to reading, writing and just being a part of this refreshing, creative community.
Can someone explain to me how the money part of this works? I have read over the FAQs but I still don't quite get it. I know it has to do with advertising, but that's where my brain stops processing the info. hahaha
I so appreciate it!
Light to you,
Star.
A really good place is located on HubPages, it's The Learning Center. There you will find step by step instructions on monetizing your hubs (and much more). It is really easy to follow and designed for those (like me) who may not be highly skilled at the tech stuff.
Here is a link right to the page for you:

Hope this helps! And welcome to HubPages~
K9 is right on. The Learning Center is a great resource with lots of step-by-step instructions for doing everything from setting up your AdSense account to picking a title for your first Hub.
As far as money-making is concerned, I'd recommend starting with this entry: http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/affi … n-hubpages
VERY helpful thank you. So an ad is placed on my hub, and whenever someone clicks on the ad I get paid, OR when someone purchases something after clicking on that ad? Thanks for your patience. I think I just need to get over this initial learning curve.
I am a newbie also and I spend alot of time in the learning center. I watched all 50+ videos over my first weekend. I can't say that I understood it all and it seems alot longer that a week ago. What's good about watching is that, I may not understand right now, but I have an inkling of knowing what is being talked about now and later on. If you scroll to the bottom of your screen, you can usually find a tab to click for the learning center. Like I said, I spend alot of times there. Also, if you run across and article that you want to keep to reference later, you can bookmark it. I do that on things that I want to do at a later time such as backlinking. I hope this helps a little. Also, it helps to write some hubs because, if I understand correctly, you won't make any money on adsense until your hubscore is 70 or above. Again, hope this helps.
You need to get a Google Adsense account, and enter you membership number in your profile. Earning is via Adsense or Hubads, but both require an Adsense membership number.
Hi, noevilstar! Welcome to HubPages . You may also find that posting several hubs first will help with your Google AdSense registration.
Ms. Dee - thank you. you are absolutely right, i think i am jumpin the gun a bit. i did try to set up an account and was informed i cannot do so until i post some hubs. thank you, dear, and nice to meet you!

This is a question to all the veterans out there. What is the thing you regret not knowing in the beginning here? What would be your best tip for newbies?

Can anyone point me to a comprehensive article about how to use hubpages properly? I just don't want to mess up, as I understand that moderation is quite strict. Many thanks.

Hello! I’ve been seeing a lot of complaints about newbies on the forums and honestly they have been pretty valid. I can’t really remember how I found hubpages, but I will admit that I was drawn in by the opportunity to start some gaining some passive income. But honestly, how can you blame a broke...

I only have 5 hubs on here. I don't know if it's because I also write for other sites, and I'm used to earning a penny or two a day, but my earnings through the ad program have been impressive considering the lack of hubs that I have. Hubpages is definitely working for me. But, google, on the other...
