Here's a puzzle...
I've found a photo that is freaking perfect for my new article. It is, however, on Photobucket, and appears as one of a collection by several different photographers.
HOWever, there is NO information on license, copyright, use restrictions, or anything else along those lines.
There ARE share links, though--codes for sharing to Twitter, Facebook, via e-mail and embed. Do those links, in and of themselves, lacking any posted restrictions on use imply or create a de facto 'permission to use' ??
I wouldn't use it. You have no idea what copyright it has. People just take pictures off the web and put them on Photobucket.
Sorry for your disappointment. This Creative Commons search can save time and frustration: http://search.creativecommons.org/

It appears both my photo credits and link to the URL of my photos are gone.

I finally opened up a hub to edit. I hadn't during the past week and a half because I heard that as soon as I clicked "save" on a single module, it would be run through quality assessment... and I can't fix all the modules at once! If it wasn't for that, I would have had the ones with...

Has anyone ever run into copyright issues using images from photobucket? I like the selection at photobucket, but it seems like people post a lot of photos they probably do not own. I like using photobucket, but there's this thought in the back of my mind wondering if I've stolen someone's photo...
