Hi, After each of my hubs is the letter A which at the bottom of the page says it stands for a "missing summary". What is that and how do I get it on each Hub so that it is no longer missing? Thanks for any insight
It's a short sentence or two that appears when your hub is featured on Hubpages (say, on a topic page), when your hub appears in your activity stream, and it's text that may even be displayed by search engines or Facebook likes or other links pointing to your hub.
Write your summary by editing the hub, checking the sidebar, and clicking on the all-too-easy-to-miss "summary" link.
or......be happy with the 'As' and dont' do anything...i like ' As'...just sayin'...
thanks for the tip, not all that helpful but you made me smile! I like A's too I suppose but think I will fix this later, thanks for the smile, I'm not even going to ask where you guys are finding the smileys!!
Thanks Greekgeek, I think it will help! Did I post these replies out of order? anyhow, I will check it out tomorrow when not so tired so thank you for the help.
Extraordinarily easy to miss. It's almost as if they want us all to feel like idiots.
It was very easy to miss, I will figure this all out sometime. Thanks for the comment!
I have noticed that the "summary" is the meta description that Google displays in search as well, so be sure to write an appealing and attractive summary. Very important for views!
Oh cool! Thanks! Now I can worry about how to make THAT sound appealing and attractive! Seriously, thanks for the info and I will keep it in mind.
Go to your Hub in EDIT Mode.
Look under the Capsules (to build your hub with) - on the right..
Look closely and you will that a pointer will be pointing at the building options that you have.. mayby.. tags, ad settings, summary etc
Click it to summary and read the message board above..
It will tell you that in 300 words you can describe your hub as a SUMMARY... when you do and take it out of edit mode.. you will find that the "A" has now gone and you have a new promo script describing your hub!
Very Easy... An Excellent Build by HP...
You have some writing to do... good luck.
what's wrong with an "A"?...i like them........
Thank you Pearldiver, I have found hubbers to be very helpful, thanks. One of these days maybe I will figure all this out and be of some help to someone else. Your tips will help a lot!
You are welcome... I was the same as you on exactly the same issue...
If you ever feel 'stuck' - go to the top right of the page (to your toolbar) and click on faq and/or from there you can move down to the learning centre which covers most everything that you can just take your time over... You will be Okay... you'll see.. one step at a time.. good luck. : ) = - if you join them
thanks again and as soon as I figure out how to join them, will do!
I have a lot of summaries need filling in only going a few at a time if I remember
:? it's annoying if you can't remember what the Hub is about and got to open it first
So far I have only did one and ended up re-writing the whole Hub because no longer felt the same way as just one month ago when written! Thinking about whether to bother doing summary with each hub or just the one's that stay relevant season to season?! Pretty sure I'll be doing the latter to start with at least. Where is everyone getting the smiley's by the way?

People are reporting that if a Hub gets made Editor's Choice, it loses its Facebook likes. This sounds like a real issue to me.http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/115381

I posted a new Hub this morning which included an Amazon capsule with 8 or 9 related items in it. However when I went back to look it over after publishing, the Amazon capsule was not showing up, there's just a blank space where it should be.When I went into "edit" mode I can see the...

I have just been back to edit this hub <link snipped> and find a list of obscene words at the top of the page. What is happening? Thanks.

Almost everyday, I am getting notifications about 2 to 3 broken links. That means, going back to the specific article, search for another suitable video, editing etc. Involves some extra work everyday. Is it only me?

Yesterday I went into edit mode on one of my non-featured (idled) hubs but DID NOT make a single change. (The reason I went in there was because I just wanted to look at my summary, which I can't do without going into edit mode). I did not do any typing whatsoever. To my surprise,...

Should we really need to view a hub to see how many facebook 'Likes' it has and Twitter 'Tweets'Could this information be shown in the Feedback section of our profile? Alongside the other reader feedback we receive?
