How do I add HTML to a capsule or is it even possible to do this? The HTML button in the text capsule only seems to allow editing of HTML of text which has been entered.
You can't add HTML to a hub. So if you want your own widgets or something, it's not possible, as far as I know.
You can add some HTML directly into the HTML editor, like bold and italics, but anything fancier than that will get stripped out. No banners and images. It's to prevent people going overboard with colors, blinking text, and malicious scripts and whatnot. It's bad enough that we already have some people who think it's ok to write an article in all-bold all-italic caps...

Is there any way of adding tabs or spaces to lines of text?I want to center justify text in a mathematical hub, but don't see any way of doing this. If I display the HTML in the text module editor, can I add code to do this?

I give! I've searched the first 3 or 4 pages of "Getting Help" Forum and I've read the entire Link's Capsule section in the Learning Center (http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/using-hubtool). That Hub, by the way, has a large number of Quick Links in it. How do you create a list of topics...
