Write Articles for Money - and Get Free Traffic to Your Website

Updated on July 1, 2017

One of the most important and effective ways of getting free traffic to your website is through writing articles. It is surprisingly very simple todo and free as there are many internet article directories that provide free space. Ideally, all you need to do is write an article on a topic directly related to your website, and then submit it to article directories. Article directories allow you to include a resource box for every article you will submit. Inside this resource box, you could include a link to your website.

Unlike adwords that will produce results in minutes, article writing will take about a week to start seeing the results. The good thing is that once the free traffic start coming, it continues to do so for months. People find article writing tedious and this coupled with the fact that the result are not instantaneous, the whole exercise of article writing is postponed for weeks and months. It's certainly worth it when you consider how many hits a well written, relevant and interesting article can bring to your website. If you really can not be able to do article writing for whatever reason, then you can always ask a friend to do article writing for you or hire a freelance writer to do the article writing for you.

And all may seem well with article writing, but as with everything else, there are a few things you have to put in order for your article writing to generate sufficient free traffic. First you begin article writing by picking on the topic which you have sufficient knowledge about. Your article writing title should be compelling and intriguing enough for your reader to want to read the whole article. When we search the internet we do so because we want information and it is no wonder article writing with the title "how to do this and that" or "why this and that" seems to do better. Spend reasonable time on the title of your article writing.

Your article writing should be informative enough to warrant the time spent in reading your article writing. Your article writing should contain quality information that is helpful to your readers and will add value to people's lives. It is certainly worth the effort more so when you consider how many hits an article writing written in a genuine desire to tell people about it, relevant and interesting can bring to your website.

Having done your article writing well, then you will need people to see and read your article writing to get free traffic. If by search in Google of a public's general keywords your article writing can be listed in the first page of a search engine like Google, then you are more than half way to success with your article writing. To feature in the first page of Google is very difficult for searches of general keywords that the public uses.

That first page is like a reserve for article directories that have very high page raking and all the keywords on earth. First and even before you begin your article writing you must know what your general key word or phrase is. Once you are in your article writing ensure you use your keyword or phrase at least two to three times for every 100 words of your article writing. If you overdo it your article writing will not flow naturally and your readers will run away. This is called keyword density. The next thing in your article writing is called keyword frequency. Keyword frequency is the number of times a keyword or phrase appears within your article writing. The logic is, the more times a keyword or a phrase appears within article writing, the more relevance Google is likely to give the article writing. By observing the keyword density and keyword frequency it mean long article writing is better. But on the negative side, very long article writing will make your readers keep off. Make your article writing between 500 to 1500 words long.

With your keyword density and frequency right, give yourself a maximum of 50 points. Another maximum of 50 points will come from page rank. Multiply the two and you get a value that will determine your position in search engines' search results. Your keyword density and frequency can be zero but your pagerank should always be greater than zero. You can read more on page rank in this hubber's hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/free_3

Now that you have your article writing ready, it is time to take advantage of the high page rankings that the article directories have. Submit your article writing to the thousands of article directories out there. If your article writing is approved and published by directories, then you have a very high page ranking from the article directories, a rich keyword density and keyword frequency. That's all, game short. Within 48 hours after publication of your article writing, Google crawlers among others will visit you through the article directories and your article writing will feature throughout the planet earth.

Article writing is one thing and article submission to hundreds of article directories is another thing which is very tedious and time consuming. Tedious and time consuming as it is, do whatever you can and submit your article writings to article directories regularly and you will create your own market for months to come.

Now, let's do some math by being very conservative and assume you are very serious in your business. If we assume you do one article writing every three days, you will have ten articles in a month. In addition, let's assume every three days you submit one article writing to 200 article directories. In one month you will be having ten article writings in each of the 200 article directories. If in each directory each of your 10 article writings is each read by only 20 people, then in 200 article directories, your article writings will be read by 40,000 people. From this, one out every ten readers will follow your article writing resource box links to your website. This will translate to 4,000 visitors to your website every month. These are your visitors; sell to them what you can. This number of 4,000 visitors per month may look small but it will become very interesting figure with time due to multiplier effect.

However, it is indeed very important you be careful not to waste that page rank power you are getting from article directories by poor page linking. You can read more on page rank in this hubber's hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/free_3

Finally, Google is desperately looking for article writing like yours. Google will pay you hot dollars to run their competing ads called Adsense next to your article writing. Do not worry of competition because bankers are known to live together. The little fee that Google will pay you from their Adsense will help you pay telephone bills. When you search for article directories and hub pages to submit your articles to, include a few of those that are Adsense revenue sharing ready. Adsense revenue sharing article directories and hub pages will let you earn adsense money when they display your article writing. If you do not already have an Adsense account you can sign up free with Google.
