Amazing tips to get your site indexed by Google

Updated on April 21, 2012

If you want your site in the first pages of google search results, you must have a good index for your site. Your position in google search results has a huge impact on your site traffic. So the most easiest way to improve the traffic to your site is to improve the google index of your site. The different ways to improve your google index or position in search results is described in this hub

1.Increase the number of pages indexed by google

If the number of pages indexed by google is high in your site, that means you will have a good google index. If the number of pages indexed by google is less that means there is difficulties for google crowlers to analyse your site. In this case it will be better to improve your internal link architecture

2.Give concern to url and title of your site

It will be always better to have short url. Also the title should be of number of characters less than 30 which contains the most important keywords of your site

3.Meta Description and Meta Keywords

Meta description is the short description about your site in nearly 100 words. This should be there. Other thing you have to consider about meta description is that it should be a short description of the page of the site for which you are writing meta description . The syntax of meta description you can get by simply right clicking on some good sites and selecting view source information. Similarly meta keywords should contain the important keywords of that page

4.Headings and keywords

Make sure that each page contains one <h1> title which is the most important keyword for that page. Similarly it is better to have keywords of your site in headings

5. Images and abundance of text

All images in your site must contain alternative text in alt tags. Also the size of pictures is to be kept low for lower loading time. Also your site is meant to have much more content than your html content. ie text to html ratio is better to be higher than 20%

6.Flash and Frames

It is always better to avoid flash and frames in your websites. Because this makes the analyzing of your site more difficult for google crawlers to analyze your site

7. Make sure that two index pages does not exist for your site

See the site https://www.allseminars.110mb.com this site is also accessible in the link https://allseminars.110mb.com. Make sure by opening both links in browsers and check the urls. This is not a good practice. Google will consider it as content duplication. Use 301 redirect to redirect the traffic coming to your non preferred url to your preferred url.

8.Robots.txt and XML sitemap

These are two factor considered good to improve site index. Robots.txt is a text file available from google webmaster site. You simply need to upload this to your site hosting server. Similarly submit a sitemap also to the server.

9.Language, Doctype and Encoding

It is better to declare your site language in the source code of every html page. Similarly specify the doctype and encoding that you follow.

10. Others

Another important thing that you have to consider is to improve the number of backlinks. These are links to your site. Once you have good content you will get more backlinks. Wasting time by commenting in blogs and making sites linking to your sites is not advisable.

Readability by all kinds of persons like teenager is advisable for sites aiming large traffic.

Now google considers the loading time of your site also as a factor in indexing your site. So it is better to host your site in servers near to your targeted areas
