Until such time that there is a need to make an abrupt decision - that is to pursue the post graduate study by taking Master of Arts in Science Education . After pre-evaluating of the documents, the teacher found out that the cut-off score of 50 points was too far to be reached. Still, the teacher tried his luck.
The ranking was conducted in the Office of the Public Schools District Supervisor. The school principals served as the committee on ranking for Teacher II positions. At first, there were 15 teachers who tried their luck. At the end of assessment of all the documents, only 10 teachers were announced included in the 50 points cut-off. Luckily, the teacher ranked 10. The total number of vacant position was three (3). From this, the teacher already knew that the chances for promotion was too slim. So, the teacher did not expect it anymore.
It was a miracle when the Public Schools District Supervisor called the attention of the remaining seven (7) teachers who were in the rank to prepare the documents for promotion. It was really an answered prayer. All of those who met the cut-off score of 50 point were promoted to Teacher II.
Years past, the teacher was reassigned to another school. When the teacher was asked for the qualifications, the school principal pushed the teacher to pursue the graduate studies. At first, the teacher resisted because of the experienced he had before. At the end, the teacher was convinced to continue the MA schooling. That time, the teacher preferred to take Master of Arts in Educational Management.
At present, the teacher is pushed to be ranked for Teacher III, Head Teacher I, and Head Teacher II positions. Without any hesitation, he takes the challenge. He is trying his luck in those positions aforementioned. He is very thankful for having a supportive school head in all the aspirations of the teacher. The support coming from his co-teachers is also very evident.
