Waterfalls

Waterfall can be defined as the vertical movements of the water where a band of hard rocks crosses the path of water. The force of water is less able to erode the hard rocks, and thus leave the hard rocks as steep in the river's long profile. Our Home planet Earth consists of many thousands of waterfalls and they can be listed according to various things such as height, magnitude, width and popularity.

Boyoma Falls, Khone Falls, Niagara Falls, and Victoria Falls are some of the greatest waterfalls of the world by volume. There are also some falls notable for their great heights in this beautiful globe. Angel Falls, Engstligen Falls, Serio Cascata del, Yosemite Falls are some of the highest waterfalls of the world.

The average height of waterfalls is 200 foot and average flowrate is 6 lacs cu.ft/sec. which is three times greater than that of Niagara Falls. In rainy seasons the flow rate reaches 18 lacs cu.ft./sec. Though it is one of the greatest waterfalls of the world, because of being cataract type of falls it is not so popular as other falls like Niagara and Victoria.
