Human Nature in Modern Times

Updated on January 16, 2020

I have been watching Human Nature lately. I find that it is confusing at times. I watched during the Hurricanes and the shooting in Las Vegas. Human Nature changed during these times. It was amazing to watch how during the rescues following Hurricane Harvey and Irma was so different than people act the rest of the time.

People would help other people no matter the color. Colored people were helping whites and whites were helping colored. No one worried about nationality then. I didn't hear any of the rescuers ask if you were Republican or Democrat. Everyone was just one person helping another. It was the same in Florida.

The Las Vegas shootings were a horrible situation to see but people were helping people once again. I didn't hear that it was whites helping whites and colored helping colored.

We label people due to color, age, and religion. This is wrong. We are all human. We put our clothes in the same way. Then we look at even the labels by labels. Colored people are what some people consider poor, not very smart and lazy. This is the wrong way to look at people. colored people have children because they care more about their families. I have had black men on a college basketball team stop and wait for me and say they have to wait because I am white. I told them that in my book that was the wrong way too look at it. I told them in my book that they were not slaves. They didn't have to wait for me.

When I was growing up, I went to school with the Natives. They were the minority but no different than me. They were human. One asked me one day if I knew who and what he was? Even when I was young I never considered myself better than anyone and told him that he was human like me.

There are no slaves for so long but when there is no emergency we treat the colored people like they are our slaves. Natives are made to feel less than human all the time. They were in the US first. The white man comes here and the Natives who had the whole country were made to live on reservations. Something is wrong with this.

Then we look at during the wars the nationality that was responsible was rounded up and put in camps. What is wrong with this? We were treating them like animals.

When did we all decide that people needed labels? If a person is in need of a little help from the government, you are lazy. Labels for color, race, and religion are wrong but then we add lazy, poor, and worthless to these labels! Excuses are made.

Then we have labels. A person is sick, disabled, mentally ill and on and on it goes. Who came up with these labels? Why do we need to be anything but humans? We compare the rich and the poor. I figure out that some of the people that are rich started out poor. They work so hard to continue to make money so they don't have to look back at being poor.

I look at the word of God and it says that all people are created equal. When did we as humans decide we were smarter than God? We are all humans. Why don't we all act as we do in an emergency? We look past these labels then.
