Part 2-Ielts Speaking Model: A Childhood Song

Updated on June 14, 2013

A Childhood Song

IELTS(International English Language Testing System) is the world's leading test of English for higher education, immigration and employment. Below are some sample questions and answers for this topic.

Describe a song or melody that you remember from your childhood.
You should say:

where you (first) heard this song or melody

how old you were when you first heard it

what the song (or melody) was about

and explain how you felt (or feel now) when you heard (or hear) this song.

As a child I was a huge fan of children songs. My all time favorite song was the Chinese version of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. When I was 4 years old everyone in kindergarten was taught this song and I was no exception. It left such a big impression on me that I still remember the lyrics today.

Even nowadays students are taught these kinds of songs in schools. There is even a famous band from Australian known as “The wiggles” I believe they are known worldwide and kids absolutely adore them.

I favor this song because of 2 main reasons. Firstly I really like the melody and it calms me down when I am in a bad mood. Secondly it reminds me of my wonderful life when I was in kindergarten. Children songs are a part of growing up. I will definitely teach my children this song when I have children one day.
