When Life Is Filled With Surprises We Never Did Expect

Updated on May 6, 2010

Excited and Free

Driving down the highway with not a worry or a care

Loving all the people we meet and cherish all the thoughts we think

The world is are ball to toss around how ever we see fit

We can throw it hard and fast

Toss it or lob it high into the air

We can watch the ball roll down a hill on its own

Where it stops only the ball knows

We can hold it for along time

Throw it a far distance almost out of sight

We think we are in control

It is an illusion of our minds and our souls

The ball goes where it is meant to go

It can bunce suddenly in a different direction than we ever expected

It can suddenly stop if it hits an unexpected rock

No matter what we do

We get to witness and see the real outcome

But that never stops us from picking up the ball again

Some how the previous throw doesn't matter

The next throw is only a guess

I wonder if we will give up?

I like to think we will plan and try to figure out the math

Is it a waste of time and energy in the end?

Or will we find a new path

I am still excited to pick up the ball and give it a throw

You may watch me

You may try it yourself

Will your results be different than mine?

The ball of life is something special

It can be a game or a serious matter to undertake

No matter what avenue you decide to take

Please keep a smile on your face

Throw the ball with all your gusto

Let others cheer you on when you do good

Focus and see life in may different lights

Don't be afraid of one bad throw

Since life is so much more

It is an endless amount of bad bounces and rolls

Never once let the ball overwhelm you

Since you are always being taught a lesson

You decide where and when to to throw

The ball may not end up thrown perfectly straight

In the end you have made every attempt

You can be very proud of all your throws

Never let anyone guide you away from your soul

You are here for a purpose you might not think

To listen,to learn,to watch,to live all that is before you

One more throw when all your energy is drained

Be thankful this is a ball

A ball of endless pleasure and sweet anticipation of the next throw

I am still trying to find the ball that went behind the bushes

Where oh where did my throw go

I am asking for your help one more time

One thing is for certain

You are my friend who will help me with all my struggles

I can't wait to hear you yell

The ball is over here

So we can both laugh and then cheer!

Darlene Sabella It is multi colored for all the colors in life.I threw it high in the air up toward the sun.The sun is so bright today and making me feel so wonderful and warm.Darlene Your throw was a good throw.I wish I had that throw. You can always throw again and I am sure you will like your next throw better.Maybe yours will bounce high and will thrill us on where it will go next.
