Past Visits

Will we be re-visited by aliens. In order to answer this we must first assume that we have been visited by aliens at some time in our past. In my hub, http://hubpages.com/hub/Have-We-Been-Visited-by-Aliens I conclude that we have.

The answer to this question must depend on what their purpose for their first visit was. There has been much speculation on this topic. Some think that it could of been to either survey for, or even mine for minerals. Others think that they may have come to further our education, introducing us to new technologies. Yet others speculate that they came here to tamper with our DNA, modeling us to the humans that we are today. It could of been for any of these reasons or even a combination of them.

It could however of been a chance visit. This means that it was an accidental visit. If aliens are traveling through space, visiting different planets, then they have, most probably attained the ability to travel at speeds that are faster than that of light. We cannot yet even detect, let alone see something traveling at these speeds. It is therefore possible that a super highway through space passes by our planet and we don't know about it. If a "vehicle" was going down this highway and got into some kind of trouble causing it to pull over to the side [Earth]. Not then, or even now, do we have the technology to give them the equivelent of a "tire change", battery "top up" and certainly could not offer them a tow. It cannot be easy flagging down a vehicle traveling at those speeds. They would therefore have to see if they could find relevent materials to fix their vehicle. Whist doing this they perhaps put up signs [perhaps pyramids or nazca lines], in case anyboby looked this way. Don't forget, that even a flare at sea, is only useful if someone sees it.

The above is just one scenario for a chance visit. There must be others.

If the alien visit was, a chance visit, then the chances of a "vehicle" breaking down in the same place are truly astronomical.

However, if the visit was a planned one, for whatever reason, then it certainly means that at least one other planet is aware of the existence of Earth and of our being here. So they may have plans for further visits and could be watching us, as we develope. Why would they leave it so long, some may ask. My answer to that would be, that time has a different meaning to different species, even on Earth. The lifespan of a fly may only be a few of our days. Which means that, what is a lifetime to us, may only be one day to an alien.

My conclusion is that, if a visit by aliens had taken place in our past, it was a chance one. I therefore do not think that the same aliens would pay us another visit. My reasons for thinking this are. If an alien had purposely visited us, it would probably of done one of two things. Left proof that was indisputable about their visit, if they wanted us to remember it. Or, if they did not want us to remember it they would of totally erased any evidence of their ever being here.

This, of course, does not mean that we will not be visited by other aliens.
