   I'm currently very happy with my little Seramas. They're the world's smallest chicken - about the size of a pigeon. They're very sweet, interactive, completely domesticated (so you won't have the biting, self-plucking, and other stressed out/wild behavior that parrots often show.) They're  kept as indoor pets in Malaysia where they are from and I have to say the pair I have inside this winter seem to be thriving. They're also quiet and lay adorable little eggs. Another favorite from my past have been a same-sex pair or group of domestic rats. They're very bright and affectionate and remind me of dogs without the fuss of daily walks and vaccinations.

      Interesting, do they have the ability to fligh? How difficult is it to clean up after them? I imagine that they carry just as many diseases as other birds.

      They can fly, however you can clip their wings or keep them somewhere with a cover (like a bunny hutch or a chicken tractor.) I change their newspaper once day just like any bird. I guess they would have all the same diseases being birds as they are.
