Are there any links between religion and social change? If so, in what ways could that be?

Do you think it could affect how we get involved or not involved in our communities? How we choose to communicate?

As a sinner, I was "before my time!"  My sisters and I went to a rock concert over 20 years ago!  I had been drinking and unbuttoned my blouse which exposed my bra (They wore two piece bikinis didn't they?)!  Of course, my sisters moved away due to embarrassment!  Well, guess what?  They're wearing bras for blouses today!

The same it is with my belief "IN" Christ; I am "before my time" and I give ALL "glory" to GOD!  Thank you Jesus!

Genesis 1:26 says GOD gave "dominion" to man over EVERY creeping thing on earth and look what we've done!  Man has tried everything imaginary possible, to no prevail!  As a matter of fact, things seem to be "getting worse!"

Someone once said, "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten" or something to that affect!  Well people, aren't you TIRED?  How's it working for you?  Consequently, we have no other choice (If you desire "change!") but JESUS!

If one would go through Scripture and discover ALL the "Promises" of GOD; believe and have FAITH in what HE HAS SAID, HE will "heal our land!"  Psalms 37:4 says "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and HE shall give thee the desires of thine heart."  Psalms 107:17-20 says "Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.  Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.  Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and HE saveth them out of their distresses.  HE sent HIS WORD, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."

Look how many "proclaimed" Christians are in the United States who claim "a personal relationship" with GOD!  Really?  Why then is it not working for us?  The FIRST thing we (Christians) MUST do, is learn to "rightly divide" (II Timothy 2:15) HIS WORD and "SEEK ye FIRST the kingdom of GOD, and HIS righteousness; and ALL THESE THINGS shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33)!

We've tried "carnal" things and that hasn't worked, now what?  Proverbs 3:5 asks us to "Trust in the LORD with ALL thine heart; and lean NOT to *thine own* understanding!"  Well, we've "leaned to *our own* understanding" and that hasn't worked, so what's left?

Unfortunately, the world continues with the mentality "I've got this and will continue to accomplish *my* desires "by any means necessary;" consequently continuing to mess up!

I ask "What is more powerful *your* strengths or the POWER of GOD?"

You've tried *your strengths* "How's it working for you?"

Three Keys, you believe the SAME & know it could work IF we were ALL 'truthful' about our 'relationship' with GOD or you wouldn't have asked this question! lol

Maybe if people believe what they believed in the past that God is in control, we'll survive.

GOD is WORD & IT is "in control!"
We've got to "rightly divide" (II Tim2:15) HIS WORD & find THE CONNECTION LINE (Acts 1:2) to speak DIRECTLY to HIM (Jer 31:34)!
      Without - NOTHING!

Religion can effect society and society can effect religion. Religion could turn a society good or evil, base on its merit and society can at time also help change the nature of a religion.

Take Christianity for example, the version of Christianity, today, is one that have been dramatically reformed and changed by society, real Christianity isn't all rainbows and cotton candy, like the version we have today. In fact, real Christianity is one of the most evil cult, in human history (Worse then ISIS) some, is even in the new testimate

For example, according to the bible, it is OK to rape a virgin, as long as u would marry her afterwards

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 [“If a man meets a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found, then the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her. He may not divorce her all his days.]

it teaches us to hate and kill non Christians

John 1:9-11 [Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.]

Chronicles 15:12-13 [And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul, but that whoever would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman.]

    It endorse slavery

Romans 6:16 [Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?]

And prior to the age of Enlightment, the church do practice those teachings, for example, during the Spanish Inquisition, people do kill people for been non Christians. But there are those who question the teaching, leading people by 17th century started pulling away from the church and establishing new ideas, influence by such social value, Christianity, change with it and continue to change till date, for example, today, despite many churches are still discriminating against gays, some churches are now ignoring those passages that discriminate against gays and focus more on positive teachings of the bible.

Peter your IGNORANCE of JESUS (aka GRACE) is ASTOUNDING!
      MORE LIES!
Rm 6:16 didn't LIE "You are a SLAVE to IGNORANCE!"
"Ignoring gays?"  ALL "IN" or NOTHING! Everyone wants his "ears tickled" huh?
Read Bk of Hebrews (aka GRACE)! No MORE OT LAW!

Yes, there are links between religion and social change. Muslim theocrats overthrew a secular King and imposed Shariah law on Iran in the 1970s. Women went from wearing Western fashion to chador, losing their right to work or travel without a man's permission.

The West accommodating various Muslim demands is undermining women's rights. The EU states suppress reports of Muslim rape gangs or blame the victims, so women are afraid to go out, cover up more, facilities implement sex segregation to try to protect women. Feminists still scream about Christians not wanting to pay for abortions or pass euthanasia laws, while ignoring women raped by Muslim migrants and the state covering it up because the reputation of the rapists culture is more important than women getting raped.
Thus Islam in particular is eroding women's rights worldwide when it is "accommodated" in the name of multiculturalism. Oh, and it destroys homosexual rights and safety for Jews, too.

Fury as watchdog says it's OK to send gay people death threats – but only if you're Muslim
