Pub culture is at the heart of British life. We go to the pub to drink to socialise, we celebrate there, we comiserate there, we watch sport there etc. But we do drink quite a bit. If you're Hindu then I'm guessing that's not an issue. It can all be a bit loud and noisy, but then we also go to quiet pubs and use them like a sort of second living space, a place to socialise away from your family, just to get a bit of room to think and be yourself. They are much quieter and just great to chat with your friends, or the landlord.
