Can you think of any other names from fortified buildings other than Fortress, Castle, or Keep?

When I was a boy in England, we lived near a place called 'Castle Woods' with which was an 11th Century Normal Keep (A tall, fortified tower)  Does anyone know of other names given to building specirfically designed to fight off enemies from their walls?

The first word that came to mind was stronghold. So I looked up some synonyms at dictionary.reference.com and came up with: bulwark, citadel, bastion.

The Keep is the strongest, most defended and defensible part of a fortification, the last post; it is rooted in the French word, donjon, dungeon, so another name is dungeon.
