Find THe Volume Please.?
James has to replace a plaster cast ornament he has broken. it is in a shape of a cone. The measurements of the cone are:diameter 5.08 cm and the height is 8.1 cm. Find it's volume rounding appropriately.
Volume of cone = (1/3) * pi * r^2 * height
if the diameter is 5.08, the radius is 2.54.
(1/3) * pi * (2.54)^2 = 6.75610......
the answer is about 6.75610
Use the formula:
Volume = 1/3 x Pi x radius x radius x height.
The radius of the cone is 2.54 as this half of 5.04.
Now all you need to do is sub in the height and radius into the formula given above:
1/3 x 3.14 x 2.54 x 2.54 x 8.1
which gives 6.8 centimetres squared rounded to 1 decimal place.
