How do you formally and legally fight a false criminal accusation - outside of court?
Someone I know received a written report for a criminal charge that was falsely brought against her by a company. She has the paper work and evidence to prove the report false. What should be her next step to refute the charge.
First and foremost: contact an attorney. She should avoid speaking to anyone in any formal capacity about the charge until she has done so.
That said, only a court can force the charges to be dismissed. As of right now, if the charges have been filed, there is probably little she can do. She will have to wait to be contacted.
