I offer tons of positive encouragement and try to remove the negative affects of the expectations of others. Usually when they stop trying to be as good as someone else or let go of the pressure of meeting the perceived expectations of others, they are free to move forward.
I try to provide an example. I do things to make me happy and doing things well, the right way makes me happy. Most time my performance was positively affected by it and the times that it wasn't I didn't personalize it.
The secret is just to be honest with people, help them when they asked for help and of course sincere smile, for people it acts as a light bulb)))
May sound funny, but it is similar to training dogs: Possitive Reinforcement!
