I feel a sense of pride when I say I'm an American. I spent 5 months in Germany and traveled throughout Europe this summer. It only made me appreciate where I come from and how lucky I am to have grown up in this country. Certainly, I have respect for other places but there is really nothing like the United States. It is so unique. I felt Europeans lacked the same enthusiasm we have. USA all the way :-)
It means that you are a citizen of one of the many countries and off shore islands that make up the continents of South, Central, or North America
it means that first you have to decide which american you are .

What does proud to be an American mean to you?Before someone gets all in a tither by just saying "America"...I'm referencing the United States of America. Although I am a devoted "American" citizen, I am also proud of my heritage which happens to be Scottish and English....
