What subject interests you so much you would go to University to study it, as a mature adult? Why?
What do you yearn to learn about? Why didn't you study it when you were younger? What are your real ambitions and why couldn't or didn't you follow them then? Is University the place for this study, now? If not, where/what is?
Physics! I studied with the Open University in England. It took me 6 years to complete, as it was all in my spare time, but it was worth every minute. If it took 12 years I would still have done it. I guess you have an appreciation of learning as you get older, which makes it easier.
Philosophy. I think confronting the universe with human mind is the greatest and most worthy use of this life.
