    Also known as the Pythagoras Theorem. It basically is the hypotenuse side of the triangle being equivalent to the sum area of both the adjacent & opposite (right angle) part of the triangle!.

    That is the way some teachers teach it to get the students more interested.

    It is to do with right angled triangles as it only works with them.

    It's actual wording is

    'The Square on the Hypotenuse is Equal to the Sum of the Squares on the Other Two Sides'

    What this means is that if you drew squares on each of the three sides of a right angled triangle the largest one (the one on the Sloping part of the triangle) would be equal in area to the other two added together.
