What did Mayans use for money? If they did not use money what did the Mayans use instead?
The Mayans utilized a bartering system in which commoditites such as maize (a type of corn) and cocao beans were traded for other items. If I had to define a specific currency, I'd say cacao beans were the closest to it in Mayan culture.
