What is diffecerence between "to suspect" and "to expect"?

And can both these words be used interchangeable at some places?

Both words relate to the probability of an event happening and they are not interchangeable.  For example, if I say that I suspect the man of being a thief, I  mean that  chances are more than 50 percent that he is a thief, but I am not 100 percent sure.  Now, if I say that I expect him to be a thief, I am certain 100 percent that he is a thief.
