Life is as illusory as your imagination wants to make it. The idea of illusion doesn't really serve unless you are on a serious path to liberation/nirvana, or to a lesser extent - a greater sense of awareness.
The idea of life being an illusion doesn't serve the human condition as it stands. We are too embedded in the physical state to embody the true meaning of it.
