What does "ANSD" mean on many WWII era letters and envelopes?
On many if not all of the letters written to my grandfather in WWII, there appears the initials "ANSD" on the envelopes. Does anyone know what this means? Any idea on how or where I can get more information?
Could it be an abbreviation for "Answered"? Perhaps so the reader would know they answered the latter?
