Is inequality in our society/civilization inevitable?
Inequality, whether it is racial, economic, or gender-based is bad....I agree. However, is it inevitable? In effect, I am wondering what exactly is the aim of all attempts to achieve equality in our society (i.e. affirmative action and all other "equalizing legislation"). Is "completely" equal pay for men and women possible? Is "completely" equal representation of all racial groups in all avenues of society possible? And if so, who is going to keep track, monitor and enforce this equality standard.
Inequality has always existed and trying to legislate equality will not solve the "problem". It's a complete waste of time and energy. Those who want to succeed will find a way to do so in every society and under every condition.
