I your a fresh graduate I would say "number one I am educated and I have an idea of jobs that interest me, which zeroed me in on this one" also maybe something positive like "I want to part of a team... I have skills that I can utilize with this position/job.... this job is a stepping stone to better my carrer..." Something like that?
1. Explain that you feel the company would be good to work for.
2. Then you need to state what you could bring to the company, and what you think you can get back from them.
3. If there is a job specification, make sure you address ALL of the essential criteria, and as many of the desirable criteria as possible. Especially include information about your degree, and how relevant it is to the new role you wish to go for.
