Is Great Beauty The Most Sublime Experience We Can Feel?
Any Experience Of Great Beauty That Fills You With Such Joy
You Just Wanna Break Down And Cry Or Scream With Joy!
Great sorrow. Great despair.
It is these realizations of ones humanness and existential predicament wherein lies the most sublime experience, that deepest moment for the individual standing alone before the beautiful, the true, the eternal:
As Soren Kierkegaard write: "Father in Heaven! Let me consider that whatever happens to us, this comes from Thee, and that whatever comes from Thee nothing is able to harm us; no, no, it can only be to our benefit." ("The Prayers of Kierkegaard." Perry D. Lefevre, ed., Chicago, 1956, p. 66.)
"Life begins on the other side of despair." (Jean-Paul Sartre)
"Faith in the Bible is faith in God against everything that contradicts God—I will remain true to God's character whatever God may do. 'Though he slay me, yet will I trust him' [Job 13:15]—this is the most sublime utterance of faith in the whole of the Bible." (Oswald Chambers, "My Utmost For His Highest," October 31st reading.)
