What Were Some Efforts By Americans As They Supported World War II From The Home Front?
Well, the Canadians, as part of the Commonwealth forces actually had troops in the fighting zones, I expect that they had, like the UK, land armies with lots of the women doing jobs traditionaly carried out by men. What Mexico, and the other countries from the 2 American continents did , I can't remember, I don't hold American history in my head. I believe many of the countries were neutral in South America.
To name a few in the US:
Planting Victory Gardens (my grandmother kept hers going until the 1980s)
Scrap metal and rubber drives
A great deal of rationing
Buying war bonds
Volunteering at the USO
Women going into the workforce, perhaps for the first time, to work in munitions, plane, and tank factories (Rosie the Riveter)
Serving as "air wardens" to make sure blackout drapes were in place
Sending care packages to troops
This was a war that our country, by and large, was very clear on. One of the important ways that folks on the home front supported the war effort was to "rally behind the troops," applauding and rewarding them at almost every opportunity. Today, even if we don't support the decision to commit large ground forces in war efforts (which I don't in every case) it's still important to recognize, support, and thank our troops for their efforts. It's also critical to make sure that they receive a warm welcome and a wealth of opportunities to use their skills in the workforce when they return from their tours.

Hey Americans,Just curious what you think. Is it time for America to close it's borders, shutdown economic aid around the world, build it's infrastructure, such as more stable housing complex, more structure railing(traveling system), cut off imports to extreme necessary items, re-vamp the...

Another lie that we've been fed to. I've learnt like everybody that the Allies declared war to Germany because it invaded Poland on Sept 1939, the truth is different. Georges VI's speech says it all! You will notice that the style is the copycat of the one we use to justify our invasions...
