    Should all nuclear plants be banned?

    There is no safe level of exposure to radiation. Cumulative effects spell cancer and death for untold numbers of people.

    Actually, there are safe levels of radiation. Because everything (EVERYTHING) gives off radiation. You receive background radiation standing around doing nothing. Here is an interesting infographic explaining radiation levels. http://xkcd.com/radiation/

    To answer your question, no, I don't believe all nuclear plants should be banned. They make efficient energy. Nuclear fusion is also an upcoming technology that could potentially make cheap and relatively clean energy possible for many people in the future.

    I think they should be phased out as quickly as possible. There are so many nuclear plants in the world now that the danger is growing very fast. If we ever get hit with an asteroid like the one in Russia it could set off any number of nuclear plants with far worse results than the Japanese "accident." The more nuclear plants around the earth (and there are lots of them) the more chance of a disaster. We should be using the wind and the sun (they're free!)
