Supposedly yes. But, I do not think this to be the truth at all. I'm sure many will disagree with me. Were there really such a thing as "cavemen?" I choose to go by what the bible tells me about this issue.
Neanderthals, cavemen, and fossils are not even mentioned in the Bible, so what does the Bible tell you about this issue? Not trying to be snarky, but genuinely curious.
You have answered the question my friend. There is no mention of them at all.
The Bible does not mention many things, that does not mean they don't exist. The books were written at a time when the knowledge of the world was more limited.
Biologists have found evidence that Neanderthals may have interbred with modern humans of the European Upper Paleolithic, which would mean that humans of European descent may have some Neanderthal DNA. It is one of many extinction hypotheses; no one knows for sure what became of the Neaderthals.
I didn't purposely delete your answers. I don't think this is compatible with iMacs.
I had my DNA done through 23 and Me and I am 2.8% Neanderthal and my son is 3.1%. I am 99.7% European, which, as already stated is where Neanderthal DNA is found. There is also Denisovan ('cousin' to Neanderthal) in Asian DNA.

Those of us who have decided to identify through our Neanderthal DNA have a list of demands for all identifying through their homo sapien DNA.1. Return our ancestral lands.2. Pay compensation for natural resources borrowed over the last 30,000 years.3. Turn over 1/3 of all business and industry as...

Major DNA study shows that our ancestors could have interbred with Neanderthal populations at least twice in our history and that most humans carry some Neanderthal geneshttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ … tists.html

seriously though, 50,000 years and nothing to show for it. No great buildings, no books not even the wheel for crying out loud. Did they have souls like us, or were they just a prototype, a practice species? Just a thought.

It has been established by genetic inquiry that Neathderthals were a different species from Homo Sapiens, but possessed large brains, perhaps a culture, and possibly speech. There have been a few reconstructions from skulls that result in an appearance not so far removed from ours. Thus it is...
