The first lab-grown burger has now been cooked in a frying pan and tasted.
What is your thoughts on this would you eat a lab grown meat product.
As long as there are real cows, pigs, etc I'm not eating anything "grown" in a lab.
They said it was Cultured Beef and was created by harvesting muscle cells from a living cow but I agree that might be taking it just a little bit to far.
This reminds me of an episode of EUREKA (SyFy Channel) in which one of the scientists was making cloned chicken breasts. The result was not good; humorous and made for a good story, but nonetheless, not good.
They say it a way to preserve the animals that we live off but I thing it is really not a good think because it is being cultured by man its jus not natural.
In the spirit of disclosure: I am a vegetarian, but no, I would not eat lab-grown meat. The main reason being that I am (as a previous commentor noted) not into eating anything "grown" in a lab---not vegetables or fruits or meat.
Out of sheer principle, I would not eat such a product. I am all for scientific research so that our lives can be improved in terms of life expectancy and avoidance of disease, but what could we possibly gain from eating a lab-grown hamburger? Those that wish to be vegetarians do so, and those that do not, eat REAL meat. I do not foresee a day in which we all start experimenting with laboratory meat.
In my opinion, if you're going to eat meat then do it right and eat a sirloin or fillet steak. Don't waste your time on off-cuts, offal or lab-grown products.

How long does cooked bacon last in the refrigerator?I'm planning on frying up some bacon to use in a salad in about four days and I'm wondering if the bacon will last that long in the refrigerator.
