Do you know how to get things done fast and on time.?
First, you need to have a plan. How you are going to have things done. Then you do things with out thinking. You start, and you do not stop until you finish your task. Any other advice, you have in mind that you would like to share.?
You are right about planning, but too much planning is very bad. Whenever I need to get work done, I improvise - or at least it feels like improvising. I always make short term plans and goals in my mind and link them together. That way, if there is a problem, only a small section needs to be fixed or changed.
