A class contains equal number of boys and girls. Average height of boys is 62 inches and average height of the students is 60 inches. What is the average height of the girls?
The average height of girls is 58 inches.

Yes, right. I posted that question to solve that as quickly as possible. For better understanding, I noted this as follow:
Given, avgHeightOfBoys = 62
and, (avgHeightOfBoys + avgHeightOfGirls)/2 = 60
=> avgHeight OfBoys + avgHeightOfGirls = 60*2 = 120
=> 62 + avgHeightOfGirls = 120
=> avgHeightOfGirls = 120 - 62 = 58
